THIS WEEK:  Well, it looks like the hard part’s over.  Or is the real trouble only just beginning?  Spoiler Alert: It is.

Join the Friends of Firstworld Cover Art Contest.  Design and illustrate a cover for either Chapters One, Two, or Three, and send it to me.  Your entry could not only win a permanent spot in the comic but also one (1) page of your choice of ORIGINAL PENCILS from the 74 existing pages.  This is how you do it:

1 – Submissions must be 600 x 900 and in JPEG format.

2 – Please color in CMYK and not RGB so as to preserve your color palette when the pages go to the printer.

3 – All submissions must be FULL-COLOR or MONOCHROMATIC.  No pencils or inks, please – only finished compositions.

4 – Please leave approximately 20% of negative space (or art you wouldn’t mind getting covered up) at the very top of the cover for me to place the titles.

5 – You may choose from any characters and/or environments depicted in the chapter you are designing for, ie:  Lillian does not appear in Chapter One, so please do not enter a cover submission for Chapter One with her on it.  You may, however, design your cover to include any characters that HAVE been introduced in an earlier chapter for consideration in a later chapter.

6 – Email your submissions to mglenngore@tangent1985.com along with your name, the subject heading “Firstworld Cover Entry”, and which chapter of the comic you would like your cover to be assigned to.  At present, this competition only includes entries to be used for Chapters One, Two, and Three.  Upon the completion of Chapter Four, the contest will extend to include it as well.  And so on.  There will only be one winning cover per chapter, but feel free to enter as many submissions as you like for as many chapters as you wish.
